    Ingredient: Cashew Nuts

Cashews are yummy as they are, or added to recipes. Cashews make delicious nut butter, dressings, dairy-free cheesecake bases and cashew yoghurt. They also taste great in curries and stir fries.

Cashews are a key ingredient if anyone is following a plant-based or dairy-free diet and they want to enjoy something with a creamy texture and taste. To soften cashews so they blend up into a nice smooth texture, simply soak them in a little water with a pinch of salt for a couple of hours.

Cashew nuts contain lots of tryptophan and this helps us make serotonin, which is our happy neurotransmitter that keeps us upbeat and helps us sleep well. They also contain vitamin B6 which helps to supports serotonin in the brain, and magnesium which keeps our muscles healthy and also aids relaxation.
