Ingredient: Pomegranate Seeds

Like pretty pink gems, pomegranate seeds are one of the most beautiful, delicious and healthiest fruits on the planet.
Pomegranate is extremely helpful for the cardiovascular system, and they help the blood to flow round the body more easily. Studies have found that people who eat pomegranate had improved exercise endurance as well as memory enhancement.
They’re a naturally low-histamine fruit too, making them a good option for those navigating histamine sensitivity. They also help boost up Akkermansia microbes in the gut that help to keep us slim. The fibre in the seeds is also good at getting a sluggish bowel to move.
Pomegranate contains special antioxidants called punicalagins and anthocyanins, the flavonoids which are responsible for its vibrant red and pink colour. Together, these powerful polyphenols offer impressive cell repair and help to reduce inflammation and oxidative stress. In fact, pomegranate juice has been found to have three times the antioxidant activity of red wine or green tea. Anthocyanins have also recently been found to help mop up environmental toxin build up including microplastics which are so tricky to avoid these days.
At home we sprinkle pomegranate seeds on salads and on top of nut butters and cream cheese as a delicious toast topper. It also tastes delicious with Moroccan tagines and couscous. Also try pomegranate with cauliflower rice.
