Sophie Henderson
About Sophie
A Nutritional Therapist specialising in neurological health and developmental delay. Sophie also has extensive experience and knowledge, from caring for her autistic son with severe gut issues. She specialises in gut-brain connection and how gut function and the microbiome can affect neurodevelopment.
Sophie has always had an interest in nutrition and health, which intensified when 20 years ago her son was diagnosed with severe regressive autism and associated bowel disorder. This led her to many years of research in nutrition, laboratory testing, dietary interventions, and food supplements, culminating in her completing a 3-year diploma in naturopathic nutrition at CNM in London, and in her continued interest in keeping up to date on developments in this area. Sophie believes in working closely with the individual and in setting realistic, achievable goals.
Particular areas of interest are autism, ADHD, PANS/PANDAS, cerebral palsy, rare and complex congenital conditions. She also specialises in mast cell activation, histamine intolerance, PoTS, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and hyper mobility, as well as gut health and immune challenges. She provides nutrition support for babies and children with compromised feeding abilities, such as low oral muscle tone, as well as children who are fed by feeding tubes. She can help you navigate the complexities of multiple allergies and food intolerances to ensure your child gets a varied and nutritious diet.
Based in West Sussex, she currently only sees clients virtually via our video Telehealth system.
