Sarah Gullan-Whur
About Sarah
As well as a qualified nutritional therapist, Sarah is a Great Ormond Street trained Paediatric Nurse and a health visitor. She brings a wealth of experience of working with children, teenagers and young people to her nutritional therapy practice and has a warm and empathetic approach. Sarah lives in Rutland and offers appointments via virtual consultations.
Sarah studied English Literature at Durham University before going on to train as a paediatric nurse at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. She has an extensive portfolio working with children, teens and young people in different roles; community nursing, health visiting, infant feeding and nutrition. Sarah is passionate about improving outcomes for children and families and specialises in kids with complex health and nutritional needs, especially highly selective eaters. After realising the impact of nutrition and lifestyle on health and wellbeing, Sarah trained in nutritional therapy at The Institute for Optimum Nutrition.
She specialises in baby and child nutrition, covering the entire spectrum from newborn to young adults. She supports parents in helping to address their child’s nutritional, gut, and metabolic imbalances, aiming to improve health and wellbeing through evidence-based research in a functional medicine approach. She has specialist experience in supporting neurodivergent children and teens living with ADHD, autism and dyslexia. She also specialises in working with kids who have immune-mediated psychiatric challenges such as PANS/PANDAS, or are recovering from neuroinflammation or encephalitis, as well as mental health challenges such as OCD and anxiety. She helps children with long-term immune system challenges, such as recurring infections, and youngsters with complex needs.
Sarah is married and lives in Leicestershire, enjoys running with friends and the occasional half-marathon, tennis, wild swimming and is kept busy with her three university-aged children.
